Minimum Version Requirements
The following table documents the minimum required version of the DTS Software products for each currently supported IBM operating system release. While prior versions of the products may run on the selected operating system, the listed versions are the minimum supported versions.
In general, users should run the most current version of all DTS Software products. All maintenance is backward-compatible so that the current version of any DTS Software product runs properly on any currently supported IBM operating system version.

Notes:

IBM z/OS 1.13 has substantial changes to internal SMS control blocks that required source changes to ACC, SRS and SMSDEBUG. The updates affect all SMS controlled data sets - both VSAM and non-VSAM. If you are upgrading to z/OS 1.13, you must install the latest release of SCC 5.1.

IBM z/OS 1.12 no longer honors the unprotected page bit for nucleus storage backed by large pages (1 MB). The DIF memory update routine has been modified to use DAT OFF updates when necessary. Note: z/OS 1.12 installations must upgrade to at least SCC SL10320 to run DTS products.

IBM z/OS V1.10 adds support for a new DASD architecture that initially allows a maximum volume size of 223 GB. Numerous changes to the DTS operating system interface routines were required to support the new Extended Address Volumes (EAV). Due to the number and size of the changes, SCC release 5.1 is required for z/OS V1.10.

z/OS 1.7 has substantial changes to the VSAM and SMS control blocks that required source changes to eight module in SCC 4.1 to provide ACC and SRS support for 1.7. If you are upgrading to z/OS 1.7, you must install the latest release of SCC 4.1. No support for z/OS 1.7 will be provided for SCC 3.1

The z/OS 1.8 Eligible Device List (EDL) used by Allocation has a new format. Source changes were required to DIF and ACC to support the new format. These updates are incorporated in the SL06234 build.

The Dynamic Install Facility (DIF) is not a licensed product, but is a required component under which all of the other DTS Software products run.
